<p>Responsibilites:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Position will lead a group of technicians in the primary goal of turnaround service tasks ahead of the normally traveling race team for cars, parts and subassemblies used in rotation.</p> </li><li> <p>Role will include participation of track team testing days as the Chief Mechanic including straight line and wind tunnel test. Also support of on road race team turnarounds is possible.</p> </li><li> <p>Work targets and overview will be established with Assembly Manager and Crew Chief .</p> </li><li> <p>Lead daily planning and communication for shop technicians within the development group that meet defined targets and deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all parts are built to the same specification. Components are safely joined, bolted or otherwise assembled following process outlined.</p> </li><li> <p>Assembly of mockup and development parts will be required with written and verbal feedback.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure technicians are following engineering specifications and the final product meets Indy Car and Team Penske requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of Indy Car rules, technical bulletins and Mechabook.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of service, mileage and damage information. With communication to assembly manager, crew chief and build leaders. Work with group leaders to maintain the defined inventory stock levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the work being performed within the work area to assure that all employees are working towards maintaining the production schedule and meeting quality requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Give consistent feedback and direction to employees who do not meet expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining and enhancing inter-departmental relationships</p> </li><li> <p>Working with shared resources and departments to meet the goals, expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Active involvement of continuous preparation improvement, processes, materials, equipment, people, and knowledge.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure self and others are following best practices with Personal Protective Equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the shop floor and race-track is clean and meets team expectations for appearance.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>The successful candidate will have at minimum of a high school diploma.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 10 years technical experience in professional motorsport or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Motorsports technician / crew chief background.</p> </li><li> <p>IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA, WEC or F1 championships preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 10 years of Professional motorsports track experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement required.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong leadership and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication and collaboration skills required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing team members required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired / Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Microsoft Suite</p> </li><li> <p>Excel experience required</p> </li><li> <p>SharePoint experience required</p> </li><li> <p>Outlook experience required</p> </li><li> <p>PowerBi desired</p> </li><li> <p>Experience leading a technician's group</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)</p> </li></ul>
