<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Community Innov & Action Ctr</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Community Innovation and Action Center (CIAC) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), engages community partners to co-create knowledge, tools and connections in the St. Louis region and beyond. CIAC is dedicated to developing transparent, action-oriented infrastructure and analysis to answer questions that matter by elevating community expertise.</p> <p>The Community Data Analyst will work to expand, support, and execute data and evaluation projects for CIAC. The role will be primarily responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data as well as communicating complex findings to varied audiences. CIAC's work is highly participatory by nature so the Community Data Analyst should be comfortable working with clients, community partners, community members, academic faculty, and staff to support systems change, learning, and deep inquiry across a range of policy topics.</p> <p>The Community Data Analyst will make substantial contributions to CIAC's growing, high-quality data and research portfolio that supports strong and thriving communities. This includes supporting a variety of applied data and applied research projects, locally, statewide and nationally.</p> <p>This role will analyze, prepare, and process data sets to be consumed for direct insights, visualization, statistical modeling, or other analytical exploration for internal and external clients.</p> <ul> <li>Perform assignments and responsibilities of varying degrees of complexity </li><li>Collect and interpret statistical and analytical information and prepares management information reports </li><li>Solve complex problems and analyses, taking a new perspective on existing solutions </li><li>Exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information, determining gaps, providing recommendations, etc. </li><li>May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements </li><li>Impact a range of activities within own team and other related teams </li><li>Explain difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus </li><li>Collaborate with others inside and outside functional area </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the design, management and execution of data and evaluation projects. Conduct literature reviews and gather background information. </li><li>Collect, clean, code, manage, analyze and visualize quantitative and qualitative data </li><li>Implement a range of data, research and evaluation methodologies for community-based projects </li><li>Assist with developing, preparing, delivering and interpreting data sets. Prepare routine reports, presentations and dashboards that are easy to read and interpret. </li><li>Engage clients, community members and other stakeholders in the evaluation and research process throughout the project. </li><li>Provides basic subject matter expertise about data quality, task suitability, and availability. </li><li>Utilize strong project management skills and tools across a range of projects. </li></ul> <p>Shift</p> <p>40 hours per week, Monday through Friday</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is necessary</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree, preferably in sociology, public policy, political science, social work, urban planning, or a related field. </li><li>2 years of work experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, preferably including demonstrable skills with quantitative and qualitative research, evaluation, and/or data analysis. </li><li>Experience with R, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, SAS, or other software applications for data analysis and visualization. </li><li>Strong project and time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail oriented and organized. </li><li>Strong communication skills (written and oral). </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $55,000.00 per year</p> <p>Grade: GGS-010</p> <p>University Title: Associate Data Analyst</p> <p>Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.</p> <p>Application Materials</p> <ul> <li>Application materials include a cover letter and resume.
