<p>THE POSITION</p> <p>Are you passionate about civil rights and social justice? The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission's Office of Chief Counsel is seeking a committed Attorney 3 Commission Counsel to provide access to justice to all citizens of Pennsylvania. This position allows you share your vision that all people have the right to live, work, and learn in an environment that is free from all forms of harassment, discrimination, and marginalization. If you are skilled at using litigation and conciliation as a tool for social change, we have the perfect opportunity for you!</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</p> <p>In this role, you will be participating in weekly team meetings to discuss, gain knowledge, and receive feedback from the entire team regarding unique or complex cases. You will be responsible for providing advice to the Commission and Hearing Examiners as part of the adjudicatory process. Work involves evaluating and reviewing Hearing Examiner recommended opinions as well as performing independent reviews of Hearing Examiner orders. You will also have the opportunity to provide counsel and advice to the Chief Counsel and the Executive Director.</p> <p>Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time employment </li><li>Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. </li><li>Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. </li><li>Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. </li><li>You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Five years of professional legal experience and graduation from an accredited school of law; or </li><li>An equivalent combination of experience and training. </li></ul> <p>Post Employment Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and must maintain membership on a continuous basis during employment. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>You must possess Civil Rights, legal, and contract experience. </li><li>You must be able to perform essential job functions. </li></ul> <p>Legal Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
