<p>Description</p> <p>The Department of Transportation and Public Works has an exciting opportunity for a Project Technician II working in the Bridge and Structure section. For more information regarding this program, please visit https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>Essential FunctionExamples</p> <p>Prepare engineering plans to include assembling various aspects of the plan and compiling information as directed by a license professional engineer.</p> <p>Analyze and review designs, plans and maps in accordance with general engineering principles.</p> <p>Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data in order to plan and design project.</p> <p>Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.</p> <p>Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.</p> <p>Become certified as a Team Leader for County bridge and culvert inspections per FHWA requirements (and maintain as an ongoing requirements.</p> <p>Perform bridge, culvert, and structural inspections as a member of a two-person team.</p> <p>Coordinate with Departmental Groups for bridge, culvert, and other structural repairs based on inspection condition assessment.</p> <p>Prepare engineering reports, including bridge and culvert inspection reports and submissions to Missouri Department of Transportation.</p> <p>Maintain Department's inventory data of bridges and culverts.</p> <p>Analyze and review engineering design plans to ensure provided quantity sheets match associated plan sheets.</p> <p>Verify quantity sheets match Engineer's Estimate in both units shown and total cost in accordance with Departmental policies.</p> <p>Analyze project feasibility based on available data and prepare engineering cost estimates for planning level projects in accordance with Departmental Policies.</p> <p>Marginal Function Examples</p> <p>Perform other duties as required or assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Requires six years of related experience or an equivalent amount of education and experience. Prefer construction inspection or structural experience. A current, valid driver's license is also required.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Responses provided to the interview questions listed under the Supplemental Question heading of this posting will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment.
