The incumbent will greet and orient patients to the department on the first day of treatment. The incumbent's main focus will be assisting the radiation therapist's to maintain efficient workflows. The individual must have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and also work well within a group setting. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of and serves as an assistant to the Radiation Therapists.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Help Radiation Therapists streamline patient workflow and maintain the throughput of the treatment day. Meet and greet the patients on the first treatment day. Understand patient safety regarding radiation exposure. Appropriately address patients identified as fall risks. Participate in all patient orientations on the first day of treatment. Orientation includes: review all waiting room locations with the patients, review the daily check-in procedure, dressing room locations and waiting areas, refreshment stands and treatment areas. Help the Radiation Therapists maintain efficiency in the treatment rooms by ensuring the next patients are always gowned and ready to enter the treatment room. Stock treatment rooms with linen and medical supplies. Empty soiled linen carts when necessary from various locations throughout dept. Replenish supply of clean patient linens in dressing rooms when necessary. Assist with patient Wayfinding between departments (Lunder, Cox and Protons). Assist the Mold Room with the creation of patient immobilization devices.
