<p>Coordinator, Medical Equipment and Quality A Brief Overview Responsible for coordinating the operations of all clinical medical equipment (owned and contracted) throughout the organization to ensure the functionality, compliance, and safety in accordance with manufacturer#s guidelines, hospital policies, and standards of The Joint Commission. What you will do Responsible for the internal oversight of all clinical medical equipment and services throughout the organization to ensure equipment is safe, functional and compliant with all manufacturers# guidelines, hospital policies, and The Joint Commission. Oversee all vendor contracted services and reporting as outlined in the vendor agreement. Participate in equipment evaluations and purchases, equipment training, review of all initial and ongoing preventative maintenance reports, equipment repairs and maintenance history. <em>Facilitate the process to oversee and assure all clinical equipment inspections are current in accordance to manufacturer#s guidelines and hospital policies. Assist with identification of any unscanned/unaccounted for equipment. </em>Review all contracted vendor reports per the frequency outlined in the vendor agreement and assist with any required organizational related issues and corrective actions. <em>Coordinate internal activities around reported equipment failures and damages considered abuse. Serve as organization contact to review reports and cost to assist with corrective actions to prevent future abuse. </em>Review equipment service agreements in conjunction with Biomedical Services and MM Director. <em>Meet with and acts as internal resource and liaison between the equipment Management Company and hospital staff on matters relating to equipment and services. </em>Assists in cost analysis of equipment to determine cost-effectiveness of repair versus replacement decisions. <em>Review technology assessment reports and participate in capital planning and budgeting. Monitor and address the appropriate utilization of equipment. Make recommendations regarding equipment or process changes. Assists with implementation of approved equipment changes. Prepares monthly report for physicians meeting to include a summary of all equipment activities around the areas of rounding, inspections, damages and repairs, new equipment technology, and continuing education opportunities. Review and audit reports and information maintained by the vendor management company to ensure accuracy and completeness for compliance purposes. Report and review finding with MM Director. Consults and/or works collaboratively with Materials Management staff, other departments including physicians and clinical staff for matters relating to equipment. Serve as a member of the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee. Participates on other committees and attends other meetings as designated by the Director. Enforces compliance of equipment policies and procedures. Demonstrates flexibility, professionalism and current awareness of and developments in the field. </em>Set priorities, follows through and applies self-direction. <em>Works as part of a team to coordinate activities and resolve issues. </em>Maintains an operational knowledge and keeps abreast of departmental, regulatory, organizational and compliance polices and procedures as it relates to clinical equipment maintenance, compliance and safety. * Attends job specific continuing education, staff development, and mandatory programs. Develop, maintain and report key performance indicators relative to asset management and repair. Review, develop and distribute annual report of recommendations for the replacement of equipment prior to the annual capital budget planning period. This requires collaboration with all department managers and directors.
