Responsibilities Assist RNs on cardiopulmonary team with stress tests on by taking vitals and setting up EKGs Conduct EKG testing in the emergency department and prepare results for physicians Respond to code blue and cardiac alerts in the facility for EKG support Take CNA assignments within ED as assigned by charge nurse if capacity allows Assist with entering physician charge out data for all EKGs read during weekend shift Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required. Experience: One year preferred; 1 year of acute care CNA experience is strongly preferred; cardiac experience preferred but not required; EKG experience is a plus. Licensure/certification/registration: Completion of NAI program required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I required. Medication Safety - AME required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units required.
