<p>The Biology Department of North Greenville University invites applications for the full-time faculty position of Instructor or Assistant Professor of Biology, beginning August 2026. Review of applications will begin February 1, 2026.</p> <p>Candidates must hold a master's degree or Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate introductory-level biology courses and associated labs for both biology majors and non-majors with the possibility of some (not all) of the teaching load to be online. Full-time faculty in the sciences are in person, on campus as needed during typical daytime hours. The faculty member will also contribute to the department's mission of fostering academic excellence in a Christ-centered academic community.</p> <p>North Greenville University is a teaching university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Members of the NGU faculty are orthodox Christians who have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, are role models in their piety and ethics, maintain active membership in an evangelical congregation, and mentor students academically and spiritually. They are Christian scholars who reflect upon their discipline from the perspective of a biblical worldview and are expected to teach in accordance with, and not contrary to the university's Statement on Human Flourishing. All employees of NGU are required to abstain from illegal drugs and beverage alcohol, to agree to abide by the employee and faculty handbooks, including community standards agreements, and to affirm an understanding of, and willingness not to teach contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Hold weekly office hours to support students academically and spiritually. </li><li>Serve as an academic advisor to assigned students. </li><li>Participate in department, school, college, and university-level meetings. </li><li>Participate in department-level course, curriculum, and program development. </li><li>Effectively utilize and monitor the learning management systems. </li><li>Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy and security. </li><li>Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission. </li><li>Actively pursue your own personal professional and spiritual growth </li><li>Serve on academic committees as assigned </li><li>Understand and comply with FERPA regulations </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Mobility: Able to move between buildings and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus. </li><li>Speaking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, professionally, and with a contextually appropriate tone and volume. </li><li>Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest, collegial, constructive, and prudent manner </li></ul> <p>TRAVEL</p> <p>All faculty are expected to be able to travel to campus for all class sessions and occasional departmental and faculty meetings.</p> <p>WORKING RELATIONSHIPS and SCHEDULE</p> <p>This is a full-time (nine-month) teaching contract.
