<p>Part Time Associate Judge</p> <p>$47.00/hour</p> <p>Closing Date: Until Filled</p> <ul> <li>Law degree required, relevant law enforcement, court or legal experience preferred </li><li>Valid South Carolina driver's license </li></ul> <p>The Part Time Associate Judge exercises authority in municipal cases arising under the Ordinances of the City of Florence. Judges are appointed by City Council and hours and assignments are at the discretion and oversight of the Chief Judge. Work involves presiding at pre-trials, bench trials, jury trials, and bond hearings; deciding probable cause for arrest warrants and search warrants for signing; re-opening cases when necessary and re-trying; signing off disposed tickets and warrants; talking with the public; remaining available to the Police Department for emergency warrants, releases, and bond hearings; analyzing and interpreting any memorandum pertaining to South Carolina laws and ethics on court procedures; attending continuous legal education; and preparing legal documents such as appeals, returns, orders, etc. Reports to City Council or other authorized persons.</p> <p>Interested candidates should complete the City of Florence application online at www.cityofflorencesc.gov and forward a resume and cover letter to: City of Florence Human Resources, Attn: Jennifer Krawiec, 324 West Evans Street, Florence, SC 29501.</p> <p>City of Florence Human Resources contact info: City Center, Suite 300 (Third Floor), 324 W.
