Some of the finished goods for these areas include soups, sauces, proteins, sandwiches, salads, parfaits, wrapping of finished goods among others. This position reports to and fulfills assignments given by the Lead Production Supervisor. Supervises and trains student employees and coaches them on matters regarding Safety, Food Safety, and efficiencies. </li></ul> <p>What you'll do in this role:</p> <p>Personnel Management</p> <ul> <li>Train and supervise student employees in the area </li><li>Recommends discipline and recognition for student employees </li></ul> <p>Production line Management</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for daily production, including setup, priority, quantity, efficiency and clean up. </li><li>Responsible for the use of production machinery as assigned, including setup, operation, clean up and regular maintenance. </li><li>Evaluate processes, procedures and setup, to maximize efficient use of 80-120 weekly student hours. </li><li>Solve problems when unexpected events occur, such as equipment malfunctions, late deliveries, and personnel absences. </li><li>Fulfillment - Assure that each order is accurately completed, pulled and transferred to the shipping department. </li><li>Verifies all areas are sanitized properly and are ready for production the next day. </li><li>Responsible for equipment training, maintenance and safety. Follow up on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). </li></ul> <p>Equipment Troubleshooting</p> <ul> <li>Follows up with maintenance on any safety or operation repairs needed on the equipment. </li><li>Ensures safety compliance on equipment and student employee's tasks. </li><li>Implements procedures to maintain a clean and organized work area. </li></ul> <p>Culinary Support</p> <ul> <li>Inspect and manage inventory to insure freshness and quality </li><li>Ensures the recipes are followed and maintained to ensure consistency </li><li>Ensures ROP and other regulatory documentation is filled our properly and in a timely manner </li><li>Directs and trains student employees in culinary techniques and kitchen procedures </li><li>Inspect output of products produced Implements procedures to maintain a clean and organized work area </li><li>Participates in a weekend coverage rotation with other leaders in the room when needed </li></ul> <p>Special Events and Requests</p> <ul> <li>Assists in managing the production of large quantities for special events such as Women's Conference, Education Week, Home Football games, EFY Conferences, New Student Orientation, etc. </li><li>Substitute as needed in other production areas. </li></ul> <p>What qualifies you for this role:</p> <p>Minimum education/experience required:</p> <ul> <li>A firm commitment to the Mission of BYU </li><li>1 year experience working in a culinary production related field </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Culinary Arts Degree or ACF (American Culinary Federation) certification </li></ul> <p>Physical Exam and Lift Test Required</p> <ul> <li>Physical Effort: Moderate - Physical effort represented by frequent handling of medium weight objects (approx. 20-50 lbs.) and materials, or use of medium weight hand tools. May require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions. </li><li>Environment: Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions because of unavoidable need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments, etc. </li><li>Hazards: Moderate existing or potential hazards </li></ul> <p>Typical Physical Efforts, Environmental Factors, and Hazards:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional use of cleaning product (20 min - 1 hr, daily) </li><li>Occasional access to a freezer - 0 degree F (5 min 1-3 times daily) </li><li>Move 20-50 lb containers of product (5 min, 10-20 times daily) </li><li>Access product on shelving, potentially using a step ladder (5 min, 1-2 times daily) </li><li>Use of specialized production equipment (4-5 hours, daily) </li><li>Handling meat cage in-out of sous vide tank (30 min, 1-2 times daily) </li></ul> <p>What we offer in return:</p> <p>This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:</p> <ul> <li> <p>401k.
