Duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Participating in planning, coordinating, and conducting exceptionally difficult and sensitive protection activities. Leading and coordinating a group of special agents in conducting advance security surveys for individuals who, because of their kind or level of position, are vital to the continuity of Government and national as well as international security. </li><li>Covering designated security post, following appropriate general instructions and protective procedures. Maintaining a security post at official or social functions attended by the protectee restricting closed areas to only those persons authorized to enter. </li><li>Conducting and/or coordinating special projects involving the development, modification, or enhancement of protective/ investigative policies, procedures, guidelines, and approaches to be used service-wide. </li><li>Developing, evaluating, and implementing new course curricula and guidelines; designs training aids; conducts training courses; and establishes learning objectives and evaluation criteria to measure class performance. </li></ul> <p>As determined by the Office of Personnel Management, the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.</p> <p>Since the duties of this position are exacting and involve the responsibility for the safety of others under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. You will be required to undergo regular physical examinations and to maintain a level of physical fitness in accordance with the standards and policies of this agency. </li><li>Successfully complete a Mixed Basic or Reintegration Training Course as applicable. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>OPM Dual Compensation Off-Set Waiver for Criminal Investigators (Special Agents) Approved for Rehires: This announcement is being used to recruit CSRS and FERS annuitants on a limited basis with a waiver of salary offset (if a dual compensation waiver is requested) under certain specified circumstances not to exceed 12/31/2028.</p> <p>Annuitants who are reemployed with a salary offset waiver (dual compensation) are eligible for:</p> <ul> <li>Full annuity and full Federal salary. </li><li>Annual and sick leave (not applicable for an intermittent work schedule) </li><li>Full-time, part-time, or intermittent work schedules. </li><li>Receive overtime (on a full schedule). Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability.
