<p>Nichols College: Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Nichols College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance, with a start date in fall 2025. The rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Faculty responsibilities include preparing and providing instruction in line with course materials and integrating experiential learning and current economic data into course materials. Course materials include syllabi, homework assignments, handouts, and other teaching materials. Faculty also:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. </li><li>Select and obtain course materials and supplies, such as textbooks, and collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues. </li><li>Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions, and maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records. </li><li>Evaluate and grade students' classwork, assignments, and papers, and compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others </li><li>Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading relevant current literature, discussing with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences. </li><li>Conduct research and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media. </li><li>Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students. </li><li>Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and career issues. </li><li>Supervise undergraduate and graduate teaching, independent study, internship, and research work. </li><li>Collaborate with members of the faculty, improve programs, develop new programs, and provide student access to learning opportunities, such as internships. </li><li>Participate in College governance, including serving on academic or administrative committees that deal with departmental matters or academic issues, and participate in campus and community events. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Earned doctorate (Ph.D.), or, at minimum, ABD (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or closely related discipline required.</p> <p>Department Profile</p> <p>The Economics Department is housed in both the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Business, offering both a B.A. and a B.S.B.A. in Economics. The Finance Department is part of the School of Business and offers concentrations in Finance, Corporate Finance, and Investments. Our students gain practical, industry-relevant experience through internships as well as course-embedded consulting projects and certifications.</p> <p>College Profile</p> <p>Nichols College is an AACSB-accredited college of choice for business and leadership education with a distinctive focus on professional development and the pursuit of passion.
