Applicants requiring new H-1B visa sponsorship will not be considered</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Department of Theatre and Cinema welcomes applications for several adjunct teaching. Positions may be needed for face-to-face teaching of Theatre Appreciation or Introduction to World Cinema and other courses based on individual experience and future needs.</p> <p>Adjunct Faculty positions supplement the faculty of a department wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty, as defined by their letter of appointment, are without eligibility for tenure; and when authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments.</p> <p>Specific responsibilities of adjunct faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>All faculty must have at least a Master's degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching, with 18 hours of coursework related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on the substitution of experience for the degree.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level. Prior professional experience in any of the traditional fields of theatre or cinema.</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of their transcripts of post-secondary courses with the application. If the applicant's official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application.
