<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Middle School Teaching/Hybrid Substitute</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/3/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>BDJ Multi-Magnet Middle School Campus</p> <p>&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Reports To: Principal or designee</p> <p>Performance Evaluation: Principal or designee</p> <p>Terms of Employment: Salary and schedule established by the Board of Education.</p> <p>Primary Function: In the absence of the regular classroom teacher, the Hybrid Substitute Teacher will help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.</p> <p>Typical Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching, managing the classroom, and building relationships with students </li><li>Take attendance </li><li>Use positive reinforcement and conflict resolution strategies </li><li>Create a learning environment that's appropriate for the students' interests and abilities </li><li>Adapt to different learning styles </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. </li><li>Recommendations from educators who have worked with them in this capacity previously. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom group/population of students. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to implement plans/instructions provided to them by teachers. </li><li>CT teaching certification preferred </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual, English and Spanish </li></ul> <p>New London Public School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
