PPL is a positive force in the cities and towns where we do business, providing support for programs and organizations that empower the success of future generations by helping to build and maintain strong, diverse communities today.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Supervisor - Rates & Regulatory is responsible for the development and execution of rate-related work such as rate and reconciliation filings with the PA Public Utilities Commission and FERC, analysis and reporting including for revenue recovery and rate design, auditing controls and requirements, transmission and distribution rate compliance, rate case success for regulated electric business, and ad-hoc analysis to optimize business planning. This role is the lead in a distribution rate case and is responsible for the day-to-day preparation of the filing. The position requires expertise in Company regulatory policies, procedures and rate tariffs, as well as strong financial, analytical, written, and oral communication skills as this role is expected to provide oral and written testimony before regulatory agencies. The Supervisor - Rates & Regulatory is responsible for assisting in research of industry tariff concepts and structures in support of business initiatives and participates in the development of pricing and tariff modifications. This Supervisor may represent PPL Electric before regulatory agencies and their staff, industry groups, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders and facilitates communication between Company personnel and those key stakeholders. The position may support developing, monitoring, and communicating PPL Electric's positions on and responses to regulatory, legislative, and public policy issues at both the state and federal level; primarily, in the areas of rate and revenue requirements, cost of service, rate design, retail markets, customer impacts, and other related topics.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the planning and management of assigned projects from development to execution, including, but not limited to electric rate cases, transmission formula rate filings, cost recovery mechanisms, and other rate-related commission and customer inquiries. This includes rate design and rate administration functions to support corporate revenue and financial performance objectives, including determining revenue and customer effect of new rate structures. </li><li>Responsible for all aspects of rate-related analysis, monitoring, reporting and forecasting, including compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to financial statement preparation, analysis and reporting of a regulated monopoly. Must be familiar with GAAP and FERC accounting and reporting, and business planning processes. </li><li>Responsible for quality assurance and quality control for regulatory and financial filings, analyses, calculations, and forecasts. </li><li>Provides oral and written testimony and responses to information and data requests in the context of formal and informal proceedings, including financial and management audits. </li><li>May participate as a representative of the Company in discussions, meetings, and working groups with regulators and regulatory staff, industry associations, and other stakeholders regarding the business implications of regulatory and public policy developments. </li><li>May work cross-functionally with internal PPL stakeholders to assist in the formulation of policy and actionable programs in support of ongoing and/or in anticipation of regulatory and legislative requirements. </li><li>Works independently with guidance on primarily complex tasks, must be flexible and able to prioritize issues. </li><li>May support research and develop strategies, both proactive and reactive, to influence the outcome of regulatory, legislative, and public policy initiatives and proceedings. </li><li>May assist in monitoring, analyzing and communicating regulatory developments, including specific business activities, initiatives and public policy trends, to identify potential threats and opportunities to PPL Electric Utilities' customers and shareowners. </li><li>May prepare and/or assist in the development and preparation of reports, white papers, presentations, and other communications to internal audiences, at all levels, to explain regulatory and public policy developments, their implications, and recommend courses of action. </li><li>May assist in the preparation and development communications to influential external audiences in order to elicit a desired outcome on regulatory and legislative issues. </li><li>Expected to supervise individual contributors, including prioritizing work, ensures deadlines are met, and developing employees. </li><li>May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, finance, or related field</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of five (5) years' experience in regulatory, legal, utility client/customer relations.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial, regulatory, and/or business situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to present issues, insights, results, and recommendations to management.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills necessary to the constructive exchange of routine and non-routine information.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to interact across various levels of internal management and external stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products and in using the internet to perform research.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated planning and organizational skills attuned to anticipating the needs of internal and external audiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience researching and developing responses to regulatory initiatives and proceedings. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with state and federal regulatory functions and processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Other related knowledge or skills not covered above.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Three (3) years' experience in responsible supervision or project management positions.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced degree</p> </li></ol>
