<p>The Assistant Principal provides leadership for the students and staff of Oliver Ames High School and implements school policies and procedures to promote an engaging, inclusive environment. The Assistant Principal serves as a member of the OA administrative team and the district administrative leadership team to support the development and execution of the district strategic plan and the high school goals and improvement plan.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining discipline throughout the student body and works with/ assists faculty in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization. </li><li>Assists in the development and administration of policies involving discipline, conduct, safety procedures and attendance. </li><li>Communicates relevant policies and procedures with regard to student discipline, conduct and attendance to students, staff and parents. </li><li>Serves on the Student Support Team and other committees as directed by the Principal. </li><li>Supervises and evaluates staff as assigned. </li><li>Coordinates school-wide discipline and classroom management programs, including bus and school safety and assists in fire and security drills. </li><li>Maintains student attendance records and responds appropriately to student attendance matters of concern. </li><li>Regularly attends and supervises student events outside of school hours. </li><li>Assists the Principal in the screening, interviewing and selection of faculty and staff. </li><li>Schedules and provides for substitute teachers as needed and supervises their performance. </li><li>Assists in the coordination and administration of standardized tests to students. </li><li>Assists the Principal in overall management of the school, supervises the daily operation of the school, and represents the Principal when necessary. </li><li>Fulfills all other duties as assigned by the Principal as deemed in the best interest of Oliver Ames High School and the Easton Public Schools. </li></ul>
