<p>Department/Unit:</p> <p>AMHS - Clinical Engineering</p> <p>Work Shift:</p> <p>Day (United States of America)</p> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$55,895.80 - $83,843.71</p> <p>The Clinical Engineering Technician provides onsite and remote support for all medical equipment and systems and in person support needs. The Clinical Engineering Technician will take ownership of issues escalated to them and work to resolution utilizing all skills, experience, training, documentation and resources at their disposal. The Clinical Engineering Technician escalates and notifies employees appropriately according to documented standard operating procedures. The Clinical Engineering Technician is responsible for an exemplary customer service experience for all Albany Med employees during their interaction with Clinical Engineering. The Clinical Engineering Technician acts as a liaison between the customers and Information Services to resolve any issue that is reported, and will fulfill any project based or new requests that are assigned to them in the documented timelines.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Respond to problems called in and repair malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner </li><li>Provide support with medical device troubleshooting, configuration and diagnostic tools </li><li>Support enterprise future business growth and the movement and/or expansion of enterprise units </li><li>Adhere to customer service standards in all verbal and written interactions with users </li><li>Work as part of a team to meet goals set forth by Information Services management </li><li>Meet all documented and communicated statistical metrics that drive overall departmental performance </li><li>This position will provide guidance to the Clinical Engineering Technician and Radiology Engineering - Level I positions, as well as train new Clinical Engineering Technician - Level I on their job responsibilities. </li><li>High degree of contact internal and external to Albany Med including any user of any Albany Med medical device or system </li><li>Maintain current technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology of Albany Med </li><li>Use customer feedback as a basis for taking actions, which solve customer problems quickly and effectively </li><li>Provide best effort support for non-standard devices </li><li>Participate in on-call rotation and help troubleshoot customer issues </li><li>Maintain confidentiality by using and communicating information only as needed to perform one's duties </li><li>Perform at or above the Information Services performance standards </li><li>Fulfill department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administration notification during periods of absence (personnel illness, vacation, education, etc.) </li><li>Complete other duties or assignments as designated by management </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree preferably in biomedical/clinical engineering or a related engineering, math, science, or technology field of study. - required </li><li>Bachelor's Degree - preferred </li><li>1-3 years - required </li><li>Ability to fulfill installations, upgrades, and support requests for medical devices. </li><li>Ability to adhere to documentation and troubleshooting processes. </li><li>Ability to determine the cause of an issue to resolve appropriately. </li><li>Ability to be successful at assisting in basic to moderately complex medical device related projects. </li><li>Ability to adhere to documented process and documentation </li><li>Ability to effectively recommend and draft documentation for improvements in processes, procedures, and operations. </li><li>Knowledge of electronics, medical device technology, and the use of such technology in the course of patient care. </li><li>Functional knowledge of medical device testing and calibration technologies </li><li>Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, healthcare, or financial and billing processes is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Standing - Occasionally </li><li>Walking - Occasionally </li><li>Sitting - Constantly </li><li>Lifting - Rarely </li><li>Carrying - Rarely </li><li>Pushing - Rarely </li><li>Pulling - Rarely </li><li>Climbing - Rarely </li><li>Balancing - Rarely </li><li>Stooping - Rarely </li><li>Kneeling - Rarely </li><li>Crouching - Rarely </li><li>Crawling - Rarely </li><li>Reaching - Rarely </li><li>Handling - Occasionally </li><li>Grasping - Occasionally </li><li>Feeling - Rarely </li><li>Talking - Constantly </li><li>Hearing - Constantly </li><li>Repetitive Motions - Frequently </li><li>Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination - Frequently </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Extreme cold - Rarely </li><li>Extreme heat - Rarely </li><li>Humidity - Rarely </li><li>Wet - Rarely </li><li>Noise - Occasionally </li><li>Hazards - Rarely </li><li>Temperature Change - Rarely </li><li>Atmospheric Conditions - Rarely </li><li>Vibration - Rarely </li></ul> <p>Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!</p> <p>Albany Medical Center is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
