<p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>We are currently seeking a casual Rehab Aide to join our Knapp Rehab team. This role will work every other weekend (days - full 8 hour shift).</p> <p>Purpose of this position: Under close supervision of therapists (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist), performs work in a service position to assist, transport and prepare therapy patients for procedures. Maintains treatment area.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Transports patients to and from treatment areas using wheelchairs and standing support </li><li>Assists therapists with preparing patients for procedures </li><li>Secures patient onto therapy equipment </li><li>Assists therapists with treatments, exercises and functional activities under direct supervision </li><li>Prepares, cleans and maintains work area and disinfects equipment after treatment </li><li>Performs inventory and stocking of supplies and equipment </li><li>Performs clerical duties: </li><li>Processing inpatient orders </li><li>Cancelling appointments </li><li>Simple patient check-ins </li><li>Answering phones, performing call-backs, retrieving voice messages </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 2 years post high school education in a pre-Physical Therapy or pre-Occupational Therapy science based curriculum </li><li>OR- </li><li>Current student enrollment in an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or related healthcare rehabilitation program </li><li>OR- </li><li>Possession of a nursing assistant certificate </li><li>OR- </li><li>One year experience as a nursing assistant (six months of which mush have been in one facility). </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a nursing or Physical Therapy aide </li><li>Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record software </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office </li><li>Ability to lift and position patients </li><li>Ability to work flexible shifts </li></ul>
