This role involves delivering engaging and evidence-based instruction, fostering critical thinking, and supporting students in understanding psychological theories, research methods, and applications. The position contributes to the academic mission of the institution by promoting excellence in teaching and student learning.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Teach CNSL-864 Research Methods and Design in Psychological Research in the SP26 semester. This is an advanced doctoral course that must be instructed in person on campus as part of the APA residency requirement.</p> <ul> <li>Other courses may be assigned based on other specialty areas of the individual. </li><li>Prepare and deliver course content in alignment with departmental guidelines and learning outcomes. </li><li>Design and assess assignments, exams, and other evaluation tools to measure student learning and progress. </li><li>Maintain regular office hours (in-person or virtual) to provide academic support and mentorship to students. </li><li>Utilize the institution's learning management system (LMS) to manage course materials, grades, and communication. </li><li>Encourage student engagement through interactive teaching methods and inclusive classroom practices. </li><li>Stay current with developments in psychological science and integrate relevant research into instruction. </li><li>Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required. </li><li>Adhere to institutional policies, including those related to academic integrity, accessibility, and student conduct. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>An earned doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field. </li><li>Training in common evidence-based neuropsychology assessment practices </li><li>A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting and teaching research methods on a regular basis. </li><li>Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information. </li><li>Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, and </li><li>Computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications, including word-processing, reporting platforms, as well as calendaring, and email. </li><li>Candidates must possess a keen interest and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students, as well as the ability to work effectively with students of all levels and abilities. </li><li>Two to four years prior college teaching experience in the field of Psychology is preferred. </li><li>Be able to work with a diverse student population. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both in the department and throughout the University community. </li><li>Support the Mission of the University. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Applicants should apply online and include a cover letter along with resume/CV at: https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/rivieredu/jobs/5121317/adjunct-counseling-advanced-research-methods</p> <p>All applications and nominations will be considered highly confidential.
