<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Greets patients waiting for an appointment. Screens log to determine priority.</p> <p>Evaluates patient's inquiry to assess opportunities of request and how situation should be handled.</p> <p>Accesses information through use of billing system and interprets information.</p> <p>Advises patients of their financial responsibilities. Requests payment upon resolution of inquiry.</p> <p>Team Leader acts as a liaison with the staff of the Business Office, Cancer Center, Highlands, and Womens Center. Ensures constant communication between all parties.</p> <p>Monitors and handles issues from follow-up for maximum collection benefits. Audits counselor accounts randomly each day to ensure efficient follow-up.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>This position assists in managing employees of the department.</p> <p>Work Environment & Physical Demands</p> <p>Must be able to remain in a stationary position. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copier and computer printer.</p> <p>The person in this position frequently communicates with patients. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>No travel is expected for this position other than occasional travel to regional sites regarding employee relations issues.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Education: High school graduate with a minimum of two years experience in health care collections.</p> <p>Experience: Ability to assess complex situations where multiple options are available and decide upon the best course of action. Has a good speaking voice and is able to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Effective handling of hostile behaviors. Possesses knowledge of basic telephone etiquette. Ability to use PC, including data retrieval. Good public relations skills including effective handling of hostile behaviors. Ability to demonstrate creative or resourceful problem solving. Ability to compose routine written business correspondence.</p>
