<p>Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, Oncology</p> <p>MemorialCare Medical Group</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job</p> <ul> <li>Provide history and physical as appropriate for each patient. </li><li>Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist the physician in diagnosing, treating and managing patients </li><li>Provide high-quality patient care that is guided by protocols and standardized procedures. </li><li>Maintain legible, accurate and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals and consultation. </li><li>Order and schedule laboratory studies, imaging studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient. </li><li>Formulate a treatment plan. </li><li>Uses evidence-based practice guidelines and assessment tools. </li><li>Prescribe medication and treatments and monitors the effectiveness of interventions. </li><li>Complete documentation and patient billing in a timely manner. </li><li>Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. </li><li>Facilitate patient and family education. </li><li>Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician. </li><li>Provide symptom management. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Outcomes</p> <ul> <li>Autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals and other individuals, the NP/PA-Oncology provides specialty health care services, including: Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. </li><li>Provide high quality patient care that is guided by protocols and standardized procedures. </li><li>Demonstrate excellent customer service skills </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>Previous work experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient setting strongly preferred. Specialty training/experience beneficial.</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Must have completed an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program </li><li>Current, active, unrestricted licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner </li><li>Licensed to practice in California </li><li>National Certification in related specialty </li><li>Current BLS certification </li><li>DEA certificate and NPI number </li></ul>
