As a Project Lead Engineer for Electromechanical Engineering, you'll join our NAM Grid Quality Solutions team, working on transformative projects that enhance power system stability and efficiency. your work will help to strengthen US grid and deliver cleaner, more reliable energy to communities across North America. If you're passionate about engineering excellence and want to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team, this is your moment to shine.</p> <p>This is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC.</p> <p>How you'll make an impact</p> <ul> <li>Lead Primary engineering activities across the full project lifecycle. </li><li>Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners </li><li>Serve as the primary technical contact for Primary Engineering </li><li>Drive innovation and cost-effective solutions in proposals </li><li>Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract standards </li><li>Support commissioning and construction phases </li><li>Evaluate risks and implement mitigation strategies with Project manager Engineering </li><li>Promote continuous improvement and process optimization. </li><li>Develop base and detailed design documents and drawings based on customer requirements. </li><li>Lead the development of new solutions for complex projects. </li><li>Drive the completion of all engineering activities on projects. </li><li>Create work plans and cost estimates, ensuring quality deliverables. </li></ul> <p>Your background</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in electrical /mechanical engineering or a related discipline. </li><li>Minimum of 3+years of experience in electromechanical engineering. </li><li>Strong proficiency in developing single-line diagrams, Layout, detail design for various bus configuration. </li><li>Knowledge in substation design calculations, including grounding, short-circuit forces, cable ampacity, cable and conduit schedules, Auxiliary AC and DC design and related engineering software tools. </li><li>Comprehensive understanding of NEC, ANSI/IEEE standards, and high-voltage air-insulated and gas-insulated substation technologies. </li><li>Experience working with FACTS technologies such as synchronous condensers, STATCOM, SVC, and series capacitors. </li><li>Background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project environments. </li><li>Willingness to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally. </li><li>Must have valid work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States. </li><li>Proficient in BIM / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Revit for 3D modeling. </li><li>Possesses a Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one. </li></ul> <p>More About Us</p> <p>In this role, you gain hands-on experience working with data-driven solutions that support real-world power grid operations while collaborating with professionals across the energy sector.</p> <ul> <li>Opportunities to work on innovative technologies that shape the future of energy </li><li>A collaborative environment with experienced professionals across the power industry </li><li>Access to learning platforms and career development programs </li><li>Attractive health and retirement benefits </li><li>Paid leave and flexible work arrangements </li></ul> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities</p> <p>Protected veterans and qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
