As the first point of contact in emergency situations, the CDA supports response efforts for:</p> <ul> <li>Tallahassee Police Department </li><li>Leon County Sheriff's Office </li><li>Tallahassee Fire Department </li><li>Leon County EMS </li></ul> <p>Every call we answer helps ensure the safety of our community through fast, accurate, and professional communication.</p> <p>Apply On Or Before</p> <p>Apply on or before 11:59PM on Tuesday, March, 24, 2026</p> <p>Department Name</p> <p>Consolidated Dispatch Agency</p> <p>Job Specifications</p> <p>The Consolidated Dispatch Agency is seeking experienced firefighters to serve in a part-time Fire Dispatcher role supporting emergency response operations throughout Leon County.</p> <p>In this position, you are the critical communication link between dispatch and fire crews in the field. You will receive, assess, prioritize, and relay fire calls for service across multiple radio channels and talk groups, ensuring accurate and timely information reaches responding units.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the communication link between fire personnel and emergency response operations across Leon County. </li><li>Receive, evaluate, prioritize, and dispatch fire calls for service to City, County, and volunteer fire stations. </li><li>Operate and monitor multiple radio frequencies and talk groups simultaneously while maintaining clarity and control. </li><li>Maintain real-time awareness of unit status, personnel location, assignments, and responder safety. </li><li>Obtain and enter critical call information into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to ensure field units receive timely and accurate details. </li><li>Maintain a backup card system for all fire run areas to ensure operational continuity. </li><li>Notify supervisors immediately of equipment malfunctions, life-threatening incidents, unusual activity, and required Level 1 and Level 2 notifications. </li><li>Maintain accurate logs and documentation to support emergency response accountability. </li></ul> <p>For the complete job specification, listing major job functions and duties for this job classification, go to http://www.talgov.com/employment/hr-job-descriptions.aspx</p> <p>Minimum Training & Experience</p> <ul> <li>One (1) year of experience as a certified firefighter with the Tallahassee Fire Department; </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Retired from the Tallahassee Fire Department as a sworn firefighter. </li></ul> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to type at least 28 words per minute. </li><li>Must successfully complete a required 40-hour classroom training prior to assignment to the fire dispatch position. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$14.00 to $80.00/hourly.
