<p>Job Title: Transportation Router</p> <p>Reports To: General Manager</p> <p>Location: Reading, PA</p> <p>Pay Range: $20-$24 an hour, based on experience</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under direct supervision from the Director of Transportation, schedules and plots transportation routes for the regular and summer school year considering given variables such as hazards, distances, bus capacities, classroom size using the Transfinder routing software.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide bus drivers with accurate and up-to-date bus run/route information to include an accurate and current list of eligible students at each stop </li><li>Schedule and plot transportation routes for ESL, bilingual, regular and special education </li><li>Initialize bus stops and clusters to from bus run and combines to form bus routes </li><li>Coordinate all bus stop and bus route information with drivers, dispatchers, and school administration </li><li>Research and verify accurate address ranges for the district </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date maps for each school campus using guidelines put down by school administration/Board of Education </li><li>Assist with establishing school attendance zones </li><li>Supervise the safety and efficiency of the bus routes </li><li>Ensure that all bus stops are located at the safest point </li><li>Provide reports/ information to other departments relative to attendance boundaries and busing of students </li><li>Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>2+ years related experience in transportation or related field </li><li>HS Diploma or equivalent or related field </li><li>Ability to interpret maps and design efficient bus routes </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Transfinder Routing software </li><li>Knowledge of MS Office Suite </li><li>Excellent customer service skills </li><li>Basic knowledge of how to use radio dispatch equipment </li></ul> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
