This position plays a vital role in helping to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities as outlined in the Individualized Education Program (IEP).</p> </li><li> <p>Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math, and classroom assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs using positive behavior support strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise and support students during non-instructional activities such as lunch, recess, transitions, and transportation.</p> </li><li> <p>Aid students in developing independence in personal care, daily living skills, and organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment by following safety protocols and supporting classroom management plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, case managers, and other school staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with documentation of student progress and behavior, as requested by the teacher or Child Study Team.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend training and professional development sessions related to supporting students with special needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policies and federal/state regulations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or Associate's degree preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to remain patient, flexible, and calm in a fast-paced school environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Must meet NJDOE paraprofessional certification requirements (e.g., Praxis ParaPro test or 60 college credits required by district).</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary: Following the established BTEA salary guide, the minimum starting salary range of Aides Step 1 through Aides 90 CEU Step 1 is $31,805 - $32,255..</p> <p>Benefits: Eligible for Medical, Prescription, and Dental benefits.
