<p>PARKS SSNL LABORS - Work Schedule: September 2nd through November 26th, working a flexible schedule up to 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.</p> <p>This position involves skilled and manual labor in performing and assisting in the work on the maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds, working either independently or collectively depending on the work or on supervisor's instructions. The primary location of the work will be at the City operated cemeteries, with other duties as assigned on other City properties.</p> <p>The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Work with crews on the maintenance of cemetery and park grounds, excavation and backfilling of burial spaces; perform preventative maintenance of landscape related equipment, operate equipment such as trucks and mowers. 80% </li><li>Load and unload materials and equipment; assist with maintenance to park and cemetery machinery and equipment including but not limited to: tractors, trucks, mowers, trailers, line trimmers, blowers, snowplows, and other small engine tools. 10% </li><li>Trim trees and other foliage; participate in landscaping activities. 10% </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Valid driver license. </li></ul> <p>Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques used in parks, cemetery, construction, and maintenance. </li><li>Ability to work with a small group of people. </li><li>Ability to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner. </li><li>Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to complete necessary paperwork. </li><li>Ability to withstand a variety of outdoor weather conditions, temperatures, and working conditions. </li><li>Ability to work in a safe manner. </li><li>Ability to be a self-starter and work independently/collectively. </li></ul>
