<p>Resource Nurses support the RN School Nurses throughout the district. The ideal candidate will have a professional and positive attitude, along with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the nursing team and school environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact warmly and professionally with students, families, and staff are essential. We are looking for someone with excellent nursing, organizational, and communication skills, as well as sound judgment and dependability. We provide a supportive and cooperative work environment, comprehensive training, orientation, and a generous sign-on bonus for new hires. This position is open until filled. The LPN resource nurse</p> <p>DETAILS:</p> <ul> <li>Works under the general supervision of the Director of Health, Wellness, and Nursing, Chief of Pupil Services, and the Superintendent/Receiver. </li><li>Works collaboratively and cooperatively with the RN school nurse and administrator of the school building to which assigned. Hours may vary based on the building assignments. </li><li>Collaborates with School Personnel to maintain a healthful school environment </li><li>Assists with state-mandated programs such as screening programs </li><li>Maintains up-to-date school records </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to administer medications and treatments as ordered and in keeping with school policy on the administration of medication and special procedures in school. </li><li>Provides medically prescribed interventions, including caring for ill or injured children </li><li>Supports or covers nursing services for the SHINE program students. </li><li>Maintains accurate electronic SNAP records of medications/treatments/procedures administered to student(s). Electronically documents health-related activities and treatments daily as appropriate. </li><li>Maintains medical equipment and supplies to ensure proper functioning, storage, and availability for the intended use. </li><li>Acts as a resource in health education to school personnel, students, and families. </li><li>Uses community resources for referral of students with unmet health needs, including the need for a primary care provider. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. </li><li>Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in pediatrics, community health, or another relevant clinical nursing setting </li><li>CPR Certified </li><li>Driver's License and own transportation required for district-wide nursing responsibilities </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED LICENSE(S):</p> <ul> <li>Current LPN licensure to practice nursing in Massachusetts </li><li>Current CPR/AED </li></ul>
