<p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Develops methods and procedures for transportation of raw materials to processing and production areas and transportation of commodities from departments to customers, warehouses and other storage facilities.</p> <p>Determines the most economical and efficient routing and mode of transportation for facility shipments.</p> <p>Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned departments or customers of arrival dates.</p> <p>Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.</p> <p>Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.</p> <p>Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of traffic department.</p> <p>Manages location cost center.</p> <p>Assists in the preparation of department budgets.</p> <p>Trains and mentors employees.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5-7 years experience in traffic and logistics. </li><li>Strong analytical, engineering, and financial background. </li><li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Bachelors degree preferred.</p>
