We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network.</p> <p>The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.</p> <p>With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Principal Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality training that supports the learning and adoption of Healthcare Systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR), such as Epic. This role ensures that end users are confident and competent in using the system to support patient care and operational efficiency. The Principal Trainer also provides ongoing support and coaching, serves as a liaison between end users and the project team, and contributes to the continuous improvement of training programs, and the ongoing development of the training materials. This role will also collaborate with Instructional Designers to develop learning content for end users across the enterprise.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <p>Key Areas of Responsibility</p> <p>Training Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Deliver training via classroom, virtual, and one-on-one formats, tailored to clinical and non-clinical audiences, guiding learners through realistic scenarios. </li><li>Provide at-the-elbow support during go-live and post-implementation phases. </li><li>Facilitate competency assessments and reinforce learning through coaching and follow-up sessions. </li></ul> <p>Support & Coaching</p> <ul> <li>Provide ongoing support to end users post-training, addressing system-related questions and workflow challenges. </li><li>Use coaching techniques to help learners continuously improve and become more confident in using the system </li><li>Mentor and train other trainers to ensure consistency and scalability of training efforts. </li></ul> <p>Instructional Collaboration & Simulation Course Development</p> <ul> <li>Partner with Instructional Designers to co-develop simulation-based training courses on digital platforms. </li><li>Contribute to course design by providing insights into clinical workflows, user needs, and system functionality. </li><li>Participate and aid with the review, development, and other responsibilities of project work as needed (EG: upgrade, acquisitions, etc) </li><li>Review and test course builds to ensure accuracy, usability, and alignment with learning objectives. </li><li>Provide feedback and suggestions for improving course interactivity, realism, and effectiveness. </li><li>Ensure content reflects current system configurations, updates, and best practices. </li></ul> <p>Stakeholder Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Act as a liaison between clinical/non-clinical departments and the EHR project team, communicating feedback and training needs. </li><li>Communicate user feedback, system issues, and training needs to relevant stakeholders. </li><li>Participate in optimization and refresher training initiatives, recommending improvements based on feedback and performance data. </li><li>Perform other related duties as required </li></ul> <p>Working Relationships:</p> <p>This Job Reports To (Job Title): Team Lead</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education, healthcare, or a related field; or 5 years of equivalent and relevant experience </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in training delivery, preferably in a healthcare setting. </li><li>Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) is highly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Familiarity with adult learning principles and simulation-based training. </li><li>Skilled in reviewing course builds for accuracy and usability. </li><li>Ability to adapt training methods to various learning styles and roles, and identify gaps or inconsistencies in training materials </li><li>Familiarity with healthcare workflows and operations. </li><li>Proficiency in technical platforms (EG: Microsoft Office, Teams, LMS, EHR etc) </li><li>Analytical and Detailed-Oriented </li><li>Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively. </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
