<p>REPORTS TO: Director of Pupil Services REQUIRED CREDENTIALS: MA Teacher License ESL 5-12 Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Act as a resource to the school for the English language development of students. </li><li>Collaborate on the placement of incoming students in the MLL (Multilingual Learner) development program </li><li>Review necessary documents, records, and assessments to determine and communicate the instructional needs of MLL ELL students. </li><li>Assist the academic and vocational staff in adapting instructional methods and materials for MLL students, where appropriate. </li><li>Provide individual and group support to MLL students to promote their success in the school setting. </li><li>Administer state and local testing and evaluation procedures for entrance and exit from the MLL development program. </li><li>Facilitate state-required notifications regarding students' entrance, exit, and progress in the MLL program. </li><li>Maintain complete records of the applications, admissions, services, and educational progress of all MLL students in compliance with state laws and regulations. </li><li>Collaborate with the guidance department to complete MLL student support plans and review MLL student progress throughout the year. </li><li>Coordinate the translation of written school communication and materials into Spanish and Portuguese, or other necessary languages, where appropriate </li><li>Provide and/or coordinate services for translation for non-English speaking parents at TEAM meetings, hearings, and other school programs. </li><li>Act as liaison between the school and non-English speaking parents. </li><li>Participate in the recruitment and admission of MLL students. </li><li>Maintain contact and a working relationship with the MLL instructional staff of our sending schools. </li><li>Participate in local networking meetings among schools and agencies serving the needs of the MLL population. </li><li>Teach MLL classes, as needed </li><li>Recommend speakers, lead presentations, and in-service programs for staff on issues of multicultural awareness and equal access. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul>
