<p>General Purpose</p> <p>The Youth Soccer Site Coordinator oversees soccer program (grades K-5) at their designated site (Calahan, Leddy or Roosevelt) and officiates games as needed. Prior experience in leadership position and working with children in athletics camp/program setting is desirable. Must be available on Sunday afternoons, from 12-5pm, from August 24 - October 12.</p> <p>Union Affiliation: Non-Union</p> <p>Pay Grade: $20.15- $21.15 Hourly</p> <p>Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/week</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Oversee Fun Day and youth league games. </li><li>Assist Athletic Program Manager in supervising volunteer coaches, referees and officiate as needed. </li><li>Assist Athletic Program Manager in conducting sports-specific youth clinics. </li><li>Check area for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisor. </li><li>Report all accidents/incidents occurring within jurisdiction to supervisor. </li><li>Administer proper First Aid as required. </li><li>Required to be on site 30 minutes before the program starts for set up/preparation and to ensure that the playing area is safe and ready for use (e.g. chairs, tables, goals, sand bags, flags). </li><li>Required to tear down and clean up at the conclusion of program. </li><li>Maintain a safe and clean environment. </li><li>Attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required. </li><li>Fair and courteous treatment of all participants, coaches and spectators. </li><li>Communicate with participants, volunteers, referees and other staff in a professional manner. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development. </li><li>Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation preferred. </li><li>High school Diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>College course work in Education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred. </li><li>Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs. </li><li>Knowledge of sport specific rules and regulations. </li><li>A cooperative attitude and a team player. </li><li>Follow all departmental and rules and regulations. </li><li>Must be able to effectively enforce rules and code of conduct. </li><li>Must have a desire to work with children and demonstrate enthusiasm, dependability, and good communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently under general supervision. </li><li>Hold or obtain current CPR/AED certification upon hiring. </li><li>Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules and personnel policies. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Promoting a culture that reveres diversity and equity.</p> <p>The City of Burlington is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we are strongly committed to creating a dynamic and equitable work-force that mirrors the population and world that we serve.
