<p>The Chef/Manager is both a manager and hands-on skilled professional of the culinary arts who oversees the day-to-day management and kitchen operation Weiler Abrasives Group headquarters-based cafeteria. He/she is responsible for meal planning, ordering all supplies, and preparing meals for both the cafeteria as well as catering for corporate events. From conception to execution, the Chef/Manager delivers quality food service and friendly co-worker/client engagement environment</p> <ul> <li>Planning, coordinating, overseeing and participating as required in preparation, cooking and serving menu items. </li><li>Utilizing commercial kitchen equipment in the preparation and cooking of menu items. </li></ul> <p>§ Creating weekly menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety & quality of the servings.</p> <p>§ Ensure all food & other items are stored properly.</p> <p>§ Washing cookware, utensils and food prep tools after use & storing properly.</p> <p>§ Ensure that all food preparation is in accordance with regulatory guidelines.</p> <p>§ Working with food purveyors & vendors to purchase supplies.</p> <p>§ Responsible for receiving in all food & beverage orders, putting away inventory & rotating stock.</p> <p>§ Engaged in cost comparisons to ensure the best pricing available</p> <p>§ Implement inventory controls and monitor on a weekly / monthly basis.</p> <p>§ Arrange for equipment repairs, when necessary, and ensure that preventive maintenance is performed at the appropriately scheduled intervals.</p> <ul> <li>Checking and balancing money and make deposits. </li><li>At least five year of experience working in a cafeteria and 2+ years in a leadership or Management role. </li><li>Strong Inventory Management , budgeting and food ordering skills. </li><li>Must have an eye for detail in a repetitive environment. </li><li>Caring, thoughtful individual that enjoys working with people. </li><li>Results driven, enthusiastic, energetic, involved, collaborative, hands on leader. </li><li>Creative thinker with a focus on customer satisfaction. </li><li>Must possess fundamental math and computer skills. </li><li>ServSafe Certification required </li><li>Must have reliable transportation. </li></ul> <p>§ Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, Point of Service devices, register software).</p> <p>§ Excellent organizational, time management & multi-tasking abilities.</p> <p>§ Must be dependable and have flexibility in work hours</p> <p>§ Must present a professional and clean presence and interact with all levels of co-workers</p> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:</p> <p>§ Ability to lift 50 pounds</p> <p>§ Ability to stand for extended periods of time</p> <p>§ Excellent physical stamina</p>
