<p>Job Description:</p> <p>TITLE: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST 1.0 FTE (Middlebrook and Wilton High School)</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy </li><li>Connecticut Health Certification as an Occupational Therapist </li><li>Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program. </li><li>Ability to plan and implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs and abilities of students. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written or oral format. </li><li>Ability to use personal computer applications such as word processing, spread sheets, etc. </li><li>Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds of treatment materials or move up to 50 pounds of treatment equipment. The employee will also be expected to physically assist the student during treatment. Additional duties are performed by the individuals currently holding this position and additional duties may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his designee.</p> <p>JOB GOAL: Responsible for occupational therapy casework in a program designed to meet the needs of individuals in the school population who are identified through the PPT process.
