<p>10 Month Position (185-190 days)</p> <p>Position Purpose: This position monitors social, emotional, and behavioral progress of students and provides prevention, intervention and referral services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Maintain continuous evaluation of student progress. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control; performs all other related work as required.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Complete on-going duties to ensure consistent communication with students and families to address issues related to their experience at GNBVT (i.e., student meetings, parent phone calls/meetings, referral for services, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct/facilitate a variety of student-focused meetings (Re-Entry meetings, parent meetings, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a lead person for assessing and resolving student crisis situations (including suicidal ideation and other high-risk behaviors).</p> </li><li> <p>Work with/consult to students, families and school staff during crisis situations to help them understand social/emotional/mental health issues and navigate and obtain school and community-based services.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior modification plans for students who require additional behavioral support.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the liaison with community-based human service providers and agencies (crisis center, hospitals, therapists, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Provide intervention and therapeutic services (individual, group, consultation, crisis intervention, check-ins) with students.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete all mandatory assessments and documentation for students with disabilities receiving services via an IEP or 504.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend IEP/504 or other meetings for students on caseload.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend/facilitate re-entry meetings for students who have been assessed at the crisis center or hospitalized.</p> </li><li> <p>As a mandated reporter, file 51As and consult with staff and families on reports of abuse and neglect.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide school-wide, classroom or small group education and professional development regarding social/emotional and mental health topics.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a member of the school's crisis response team.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a member of the school's SBIRT team.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in staff and faculty meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the Educator Evaluation process.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other assigned duties as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>Recommended Minimum Qualification</p> <p>Education, Training and Experience:</p> <p>Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Related Field, Licensed by DESE as School Adjustment Counselor, preferred MA Clinical License (LMHC or LCSW/LICSW), experience working with adolescents/young adults.</p> <p>May be required to attend Guidance events and presentations outside of school hours.</p> <p>Knowledge, Ability and Skills:</p> <p>Knowledge: Has knowledge of programs and services available to students. Has proficient computer skills and is able to navigate the student information system. Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> <p>Ability. Maintains positive working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and community partners. Maintains appropriate paperwork, data and notes on students seen/serviced. Ability to communicate effectively, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all school employees, students, teachers, parents, and vendors, ability to recognize school-wide priorities and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruptions, occasionally under time pressure.</p> <p>Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate effective knowledge of and be sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population. Willing and able to perform assigned duties in a manner that is sensitive to different personalities, respectful of the role and authority of school leaders, sensitive to community dynamics.
