<p>Administrative Associate - HR - PT </p> <p>Human Resources Department</p> <p>Starting Salary: $15.44 Hourly</p> <p>FLSA Position Class: Part-Time, Non-Exempt</p> <p>Work Schedule: 12 Hours per week - minimum 4 hours per day. Can be split 2 or 3 days with a set schedule between the HR operating hours of M - F, 8AM - 5PM. </p> <p>Posting Closing Date: April 5, 2026 </p> <p>Resume Attachment is Required with Completed Application.</p> <p>Job Overview</p> <p>This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department. This position supports personnel records management, onboarding preparation, data entry, and general departmental operations, while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.NOTE: Employee may be required to respond to a disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Statesville and meet the needs of the organization, which may result in the assignment of other duties and take precedence over duties described in this job description. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.</p> <ul> <li>Establish and maintain employee personnel files, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and properly organized. </li><li>Maintain employee records in compliance with North Carolina records retention requirements, including proper handling and separation of medical files, Form I-9 documentation, benefits records, and background checks. </li><li>Process employee separations by retrieving, reviewing, and securely maintaining required documentation, including I-9 forms and confidential records. </li><li>File and organize employee documentation on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accurate placement within appropriate personnel file sections. </li><li>Digitize personnel records by scanning and indexing documents into Laserfiche to support efficient storage and retrieval. </li><li>Prepare onboarding materials for new employees, including assembling orientation packets, printing required documents, and maintaining an adequate inventory of HR forms and materials. </li><li>Maintain employee training and certification records within the HRIS, including data entry, updates, and creation of training codes as needed. </li><li>Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and accessibility of the HR file room to support effective records management. </li><li>Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of employee engagement activities and HR-sponsored events, including service awards, employee appreciation events, benefits fairs, and departmental functions. Responsibilities may include logistics coordination, material preparation, vendor communication, and event setup/cleanup. </li><li>Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources Department, including answering inquiries, preparing documents, and assisting staff as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED. </li><li>Two (2) years of experience in general office, clerical, or records management work. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities </p> <ul> <li>Ability to handle confidential information </li><li>Strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills </li><li>General knowledge of standard office and computer equipment. </li><li>General knowledge of Microsoft Office. </li><li>Ability to gather and compile materials from a variety of sources. </li><li>Ability to communicate ideas clearly, politely, and effectively, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and the public. </li></ul> <p>Job Related Physical Requirements</p> <p>This position involves sedentary work requiring the exertion of 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met; vocal communication is required to express thoughts and exchange information; hearing is required to respond to spoken words, to receive and understand information; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of office equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>The employee is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.</p>
