<p>The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Post Doctoral Fellow (Robotics) in the Department of Neuroscience.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>A postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience/robotics/machine learning is available in Dr. Latifi's Lab at West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. We are looking for outstanding candidates interested in employing cutting-edges technologies, ML, and graph theory-based analytics to understand multiscale brain networks dynamics. The postdoctoral associate can work under a specific project as well as general research involving the applications of ML, robotics, or graph theory in evaluating brain functions in specific disorders such as stroke.</p> <p>At WVU Research Corporation, we strongly believe in work-life balance and keeping time for things we love outside our work. WVU Research Corporation offers a comprehensive benefits package with a variety of options to suit your needs:</p> <ul> <li>13 paid holidays (staff holiday calendar) </li><li>Paid Time off (PTO) </li><li>403(b) retirement savings with a fully vested 3% employee contribution match, (Employees have the option of contributing an additional 1-3% of their earnings to the plan, which is also matched by the WVURC) </li><li>A range of health insurance and other benefits </li><li>Dependent Education Scholarship </li><li>WVU Perks </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Analyzing neuronal data from large scale electrophysiological recording or two-photon microscopy and contributing to developing/modifying analytical pipeline.</p> </li><li> <p>Developing ML/AI models to decode behavior from extracted neuronal signals.</p> </li><li> <p>Design robotics structures (in collaboration with other labs in the project).</p> </li><li> <p>Provide intellectual contribution to other ongoing projects in the lab.</p> </li><li> <p>PhD in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Physics, or related quantitative disciplines.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of 0-6 months experience in the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzing high-dimensional data using MATLAB or Python.</p> </li><li> <p>All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong quantitative and programming skills. </li><li>Experience with two-photon microscopy and/or EEG. </li><li>Candidates from other quantitative disciplines should be willing to work with animal models and perform experiments. </li></ul>
