As a department in Mecklenburg County's Health and Human Services Agency, CSS maximizes community partnerships and collaborative opportunities to improve access to services and advocate for the needs of special populations.</p> <p>Position Specific Information</p> <p>Selected candidate will supervise a case coordinator, an administrative assistant, and substance use counselors performing assessments, counseling, case management, and other similar activities in the Detention Center located at 801 East Fourth Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.This position will be housed onsite at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center in uptown Charlotte. The position hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.</p> <p>This position serves as part of a collaborative partnership between Community Support Services and the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.The day treatment program provides inmates an opportunity to participate in group and individual sessions where substance use issues are addressed. The program uses a combination of Best Practice Models such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Seeking Safety, Helping Men Recover, and specific programs that change criminal thinking.</p> <p>Candidates are required to have dual licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), AND an LCAS AND CCS in North Carolina. Provisionally certified clinical supervisors may be considered such as Clinical Supervisor - Intern status with the NCASPPB.</p> <p>The chosen candidate will provide clinical and administrative supervision to include completing performance evaluations, coaching staff, making hiring/termination recommendations and providing ongoing training.</p> <p>The chosen candidate is also responsible for quality and compliance review, monitoring the provision of services to address clients' immediate service needs, developing innovative methods to enhance current programming and conducting program evaluation and improvement activities in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.</p> <p>Focusing on community partnerships, serving as a liaison, and meeting with community stakeholders in order to further develop strategic initiative activities is required.</p> <p>Selected candidate will be required to complete onboarding processes with both the County and with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). This includes the ability to obtain and maintain facility access to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Supervise licensed clinicians and employees performing clinical interventions and/or case management to individuals impacted by substance use, mental health, domestic violence, trauma and/or developmental disabilities. This supervisory position is responsible for quality along with compliance review and may carry a caseload of its own.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Duties will vary depending on assignment:</p> <p>Provide supervision of clinical team to include: management of on-call acute response services and community-based service provision to target population; and/or prioritize and assign work; conduct performance evaluations; ensure employees are trained and maintain licensure; ensure that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations</p> <p>Review departmental practices and standards and makes recommendations for improvements</p> <p>Participate in multidisciplinary staffings of clients before and after evaluations, which include reviewing extensive information regarding clients to make decisions with the evaluation team regarding evaluation tools and assessment methods, reviewing clients' level of overall functioning, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations</p> <p>Review clinical interventions and documentation related to clinical interventions and evaluation</p> <p>Provide accurate data collection and record-keeping amongst clinical staff, must staff cases regularly with clinicians in individual supervision, group supervision, and multi-disciplinary meetings with law enforcement and child protective service partners to ensure quality service provision and client safety</p> <p>Responsible for communicating goals and expectations to area clinicians; ensure uniform quality for the clinical services provided, as well as ensure best practices amongst clinical staff</p> <p>Community Support Services positions: This position performs key job functions at a community partner work site. Employment in this position is conditional upon following all policies and procedures of the community partner host agency and adhering to all requirements that the community partner agency has established to grant and maintain physical and/or virtual access to the work site. If access is revoked, employment may be terminated.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Experience: Minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience or training providing clinical services in the area assigned.</p> <p>Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field</p> <p>Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? No</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <p>Licensure in NC in one of the following areas: LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LPA - Licensed Psychological Associate, or LCMHC - Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (additional certifications may be required based on target population being served)</p> <p>First Aid and CPR Certification</p> <p>Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License</p> <p>Requires County Driving Privileges</p> <p>Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Dual licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), AND an LCAS AND CCS in North Carolina a must. Provisionally certified clinical supervisors may be considered such as Clinical Supervisor - Intern status with the NCASPPB.</p> <p>Candidate must be comfortable working in a criminal justice environment/setting with individuals with mental health and substance use issues.</p> <p>Previous supervisory experience in mental health and substance use related field.</p> <p>Experience with Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care models and applying them to the population served.</p> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <p>In addition to a competitive salary, Mecklenburg County offers a generous benefits package which greatly increases your total compensation.
