The vision of CMHHIFL is to provide the highest quality mental health services to persons with complex, serious, and persistent mental illness within the resources available. Our mission is to support those individuals in achieving their recovery goals and reaching their full potential. CMHHIFL provides inpatient treatment to adult patients, generally between the ages of 18-59. The hospital has adult inpatient beds, over six treatment milieus serving civil and forensic individuals. Medical services, occupational therapy, neuropsychological-rehabilitation services, and trauma-informed care services are available for all patients throughout the hospital.</p> <p>The Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan is a tobacco free campus.</p> <ul> <li>About this Work Unit: </li></ul> <p>The Pharmacy department provides for the purchase, preparation, storage, control, and dispensing of all drugs and pharmaceutical preparations required for the treatment of patients. Provides monitoring of patient drug therapy and provides drug information and consultation services to staff by utilizing pharmacists as resources. </p> <p>Purpose of this Position:</p> <p>This position exists to assist the pharmacists in the daily operation of the pharmacy department by delivering medications, filling cassettes, filling prescriptions (including floor stock items, controlled substances, and discharge medications), issuing credits, removal and replacing (near) outdated medication in after-hours pharmacy, inspection of inventory for (near) outdated medication for removal and replacement, data entry, ordering and restocking pharmaceuticals and supplies, pre-packaging and labeling medications, storage of patient's own medications and retrieval at discharge with associated paperwork, picking up pharmaceuticals and paperwork from the units, process Medicare Part D claims, coordinates pickup and removal of pharmaceutical wastes with vendor, answering telephones and directing call to the pharmacy personnel, collects and sorts mail on weekly basis, communicating with hospital staff to answer questions using pharmacists as a resource, and other duties as assigned by pharmacy personnel.</p> <p>Shift Information: </p> <ul> <li> <p>The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. </p> </li><li> <p>This position will work (4) 10-hour shifts.</p> </li><li> <p>Shifts are subject to change based on the needs of the facility. </p> </li></ul> <p>Primary duties are as follow:</p> <p>Deliver medications to treatment units, fill prescriptions, process Medicare part D claims, and issue pharmaceutical credits back to clients:</p> <ul> <li>Deliver medications to treatment teams and pick up medications to be returned to the pharmacy. The treatment units are in different buildings and delivery requires going outside. </li><li>Filling prescriptions accurately (including floor stock items, controlled substances, discharge medications, and inpatient unit dose cassettes). </li><li>Issues credits back to clients. </li><li>Process Medicare Part D claims. </li><li>Completes associated paperwork and computer data entry. </li></ul> <p>Package and Fill controlled medications:</p> <ul> <li>Process controlled drugs requisitions such as packaging, filling, and delivering pharmaceuticals to treatment units and use pharmacy logs and nursing control substance sign-out logs to account accurately for such medications. </li><li>Check controlled drugs on-hand in the computer to match with the physical on-hands and document. Need to assign lot numbers to every controlled drug dispensed as floor stock. </li><li> Obtain signatures from nurses for the floor stocks and pharmacist for pharmacy. </li></ul> <p>Pre-package to Unit Dose and Return medication to pharmacy inventory:</p> <ul> <li>Pre-package and label medications for unit dose dispensing. </li><li> Properly return medication to the pharmacy inventory and credit back to patients. </li><li>Completed associated paperwork and computer data entry. </li></ul> <p>Order Supplies and pharmaceuticals:</p> <ul> <li>Orders pharmaceuticals and supplies for the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. </li><li>Receive the items and put them away. </li><li>Completes associated paperwork and computer data entry </li></ul> <p>Inspect the pharmacy for expired medication and coordinate the pickup and removal of pharmaceutical wastes with the vendor:</p> <ul> <li>Inspect the pharmacy and the after-hours medication room for expired or near-expired medications. </li><li>Replaces medications when necessary and completes associated paperwork and computer data entry. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties as Assigned</p> <p>Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:</p> <p>Current, valid certification or provisional certification as a Pharmacy Technician from the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy</p> <p>AND</p> <p>Two (2) years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position</p> <p>No Substitutions</p> <p>Special Qualifications:</p> <p>Must be an active registered pharmacy technician with the state of Colorado.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Two (2) years of recent experience filling, labeling, and storing drugs in a pharmacy setting;</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with pharmacy and healthcare professionals; </p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills;</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain adequate inventory/supplies;</p> </li><li> <p>Basic computer literacy and skills;</p> </li><li> <p>Mathematical computation skills;</p> </li><li> <p>Customer service and problem solving;</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work as a team member;</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to meet work schedules. </p> </li><li> <p>Previous State employee</p> </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment: </p> <ul> <li>Must be 21 years of age or older </li><li>Pre-employment Physical/ TB test </li><li>May use, handle or expose to hazardous materials - some pharmaceuticals require special disposal per regulation. </li><li>Must be available for shift work may be requested to work various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours </li><li>Must be an active registered pharmacy technician with the State of Colorado and PTCB certified. </li><li>Full Background - Name check, TRAILS, Drug Screen and Fingerprinting </li><li>Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position.
