<p>Community Health and Dental Care</p> <p>Announces Position Opening For</p> <p>Dental Assistant</p> <p>Reports to Dental Clinical Supervisor</p> <p>Full-time, non-exempt</p> <p>About CHDC</p> <p>CHDC (Community Health and Dental Care, Inc.) is a quickly growing Community Health Center in Pennsylvania with locations in Pottstown, Barto, and Boyertown, providing care for all patients in our service area, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.</p> <p>Our staff put the care and well-being of our patients at the forefront of everything we do at CHDC.</p> <p>About the Dental Assistant Position</p> <p>The Dental Assistant assists the Dentists in providing direct patient care, including both routine and emergency treatment, and maintains proper dental records and timely completion of billing information. The Dental Assistant also serves as a back-up general clerical support to primary care teams and general customer service for health center patients and visitors.</p> <p>Benefits Package</p> <p>Competitive base salary, Medical Insurance, Dental and Vision Insurance, PTO Accrual, 401K Company Match, 12 Paid Holidays, Company paid life insurance, Employee Health Reimbursement Program, No PTO needed for employee preventative care appointments, Employee Assistance Program, employee discounts, summer picnic, and much more!</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assists Dentist in providing quality dental care in all venues through which agency personnel provide dental care. </li><li>Assist with policy/procedure development in the dental department. </li><li>Implement and adhere to the policies of the organization, as well as those of funding sources and third-party payers. </li><li>Attend all regular dental team meetings. </li><li>Implementation of the dental department's Quality Improvement Plan. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and infection control measures in the dental clinic. </li><li>Seat and dismiss patients and set up operatories for procedures. </li><li>Provide four handed assisting to the dentist during procedures. </li><li>Assist with charting all patients, including date, service rendered, instruction given, treatment planning, medical history updates, etc. </li><li>Perform clinical procedures as delegated by dentist, including screenings, preparation of lab cases, and exposing, developing, and mounting radiographs. </li><li>Provide patient instruction and demonstrate, when necessary, as delegated by the dentist. </li><li>Maintain current CPR licensure and certification to take radiographs in Pennsylvania. </li><li>Other related duties as assigned by the Medical Director or Dental Program Manager. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Qualifications, Education, and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent dental assisting experience required. </li><li>X-ray Certification required. </li><li>Medical or dental office experience or background required. </li><li>Minimum of one-year dental assisting experience strongly preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of dental instruments, general dentistry procedures, and infection control programs strongly preferred. </li><li>Bilingual/bicultural preferred. </li><li>Attendance required at assigned CHDC site(s) </li></ul> <p>Our Mission</p> <p>It is the mission of Community Health and Dental Care to identify gaps in health services and to ensure access to appropriate levels of care for all people in the service area regardless of their ability to pay. Our doors opened in October 2008 with 39 medical and dental patients seen that first week and we've grown to see thousands of medical and dental patients each year.
