<p>Systems Administrator / Systems Operator (SA) Digital Automation Systems Operator Position Profile</p> <p>The Digital Automation Systems Operator (SA) works on-site within designated Service Advantage Partner locations and serves as the primary Systems Operator. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and supporting a variety of Partner-sold automation equipment at customer locations, typically within a defined geographic area.</p> <p>The SA demonstrates technical expertise in Modular Control Systems, Partner structures, and client systems while managing system priorities and performance across daily operations. This position requires strict adherence to Partner-approved Standard Operating Procedures and close collaboration with the Partner Support team to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting system performance.</p> <p>The overall objective of this role is to maximize automation system output, efficiency, and uptime while delivering expert-level technical support and customer satisfaction.</p> <p>Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide front-line operational support for client automation systems, including robotics, 3D printing, workstations, and related technologies. </li><li>Operate and support automated systems, software-based control systems, and associated electrical and mechanical equipment. </li><li>Deliver hands-on electro-mechanical support, including use of Linux and command-line tools, to maintain and troubleshoot client systems. </li><li>Maintain direct communication and coordination with client vendor partners at the Partner level. </li><li>Support client key performance indicators (KPIs) by maximizing system uptime and operational efficiency. </li><li>Perform system software installations and updates according to client technical specifications. </li><li>Diagnose and remediate system issues to ensure high levels of performance and reliability. </li><li>Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support sound technical decision-making. </li><li>Perform a full range of system support services, including diagnostics, installation, mapping, induction, removal, configuration testing, and commissioning. </li><li>Demonstrate required digital competencies for assigned products and system levels. </li><li>Complete assigned technical training on supported client systems. </li><li>Review and stay current on all technical documentation related to supported systems and products. </li><li>Act as a positive influence and champion within the team and organization. </li><li>Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence. </li><li>Perform additional duties related to Partner Support as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>(Education, Experience, and Certifications)</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree, four-year apprenticeship, or equivalent experience/training in Robotics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical disciplines. </li><li>Demonstrated professionalism in appearance and conduct. </li><li>Experience and proficiency with: </li><li>Automated systems and software-based controls </li><li>Electrical and electronic principles </li><li>Linux environments and technical tools, including Java, XML, SQL, and database administration </li><li>PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming </li><li>Industrial PC systems </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus on Robotics, Mechanical, or Electronics fields. </li><li>Proven ability to multitask and prioritize across multiple projects and workloads. </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. </li><li>Physical dexterity with the ability to stand for extended periods. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with peers, management, contractors, and vendors. </li><li>Highly self-motivated, customer-focused, and committed to team success. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Advanced knowledge of electro-mechanical devices, automation systems, and technology applications. </li><li>Expert understanding of assigned client automation systems. </li><li>Strong, methodical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities. </li><li>Exceptional customer service skills, including follow-through to ensure issue resolution. </li><li>Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation such as site operations manuals, technical guides, and industry publications. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Primarily works in a warehouse environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and standard temperature and noise levels. </li><li>Variable shifts and overtime may be required based on Partner operational needs. </li><li>Regular use of laptops, specialized software, and client testing equipment. </li><li>Ability to move wheeled objects up to 400 pounds and lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling required to support automation systems. </li><li>Overnight travel may be required to attend or provide vendor-specific training. </li></ul>
