<p>Description</p> <p>Certified Veterinary Technician - Emergency and ICU</p> <p>Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty and ER</p> <p>Elk Grove Village, IL</p> <p>Overnight Shift-Full-time</p> <p>Schedule: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday- 7p-7a</p> <p>Elk Grove Veterinary Specialty and ER, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our ER/ICU overnight team. This full-time overnight CVT role is ideal for veterinary technicians with emergency, ICU, or critical care experience who thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment.</p> <p>Experience and Skills</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Veterinary Technician/Assistant clinical experience-CVT is preferred, not required </li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities </li><li>Overnight availability </li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>ER, ICU, or critical care nursing experience-highly preferred </li><li>Knowledge of triage, anesthesia monitoring, and advanced patient care </li><li>Knowledge of CPR and infectious disease protocols, and advanced diagnostics </li></ul> <p>Role Responsibilities - ER/ICU</p> <ul> <li>Provide high-quality nursing care to critical and emergency patients. </li><li>Triage incoming cases and assist with stabilization and monitoring. </li><li>Perform anesthesia induction and monitoring. </li><li>Administer medications, IV fluids, CRIs, oxygen therapy, and assist in post-operative care. </li><li>Accurately complete and maintain patient medical records. </li><li>Perform and interpret in-house diagnostics; prepare and submit samples for reference testing. </li><li>Communicate effectively with clients about patient status and discharge instructions. </li><li>Use safe, fear-free handling techniques while maintaining a clean, organized treatment area. </li><li>Collaborate with veterinarians and peers to deliver seamless emergency and ICU care. </li></ul> <p>You'll Grow with Us</p> <p>Here, you can grow your career as best fits you through access to comprehensive learning and skillset programs.
