<p>This is a Part Time Weekend Position - 8 hr shifts</p> <p>Company Conformance Statements</p> <p>In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. </li><li>Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. </li><li>Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. </li><li>Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. </li></ul> <p>Position purpose</p> <p>The Histotechnician/HTL main responsibility is to perform all functions in the histology lab to include embedding, microtomy, staining and filing.</p> <p>Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks</p> <p>Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Provide back up for Lab Assistant duties </li><li>Gross*, embed, cut, and stain tissue according to designated procedures </li><li>Perform all routine and specialized histology tissue, slide prep and staining procedures </li><li>Complete assigned workload within prescribed time limit </li><li>Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining </li><li>Maintain legible, accurate complete logs and record of testing </li><li>Distributing slides to pathologists </li><li>Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment </li><li>Troubleshoot procedures and instrumentation </li><li>Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met </li><li>Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations </li><li>Maintain a clean and well-organized work area </li><li>Other duties, as assigned </li></ul>
