Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Overview The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for the access and revenue operations of the Cancer Center & Breast Center Patient Financial Services team. Staff oversight and management includes all Patient Financial Service (PFS) Clerks and Cancer Center Billers. The Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) acts as a liaison between patient accounts and patients, directs, supervises and, trains all registration /authorization /charge posting and reconciliation activities. The RCM assists the AVP of Access in deploying and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure the fiscal success of the Cancer Center while overseeing the entire revenue cycle process, including registration to collection of revenue for all hospital services for the breast and cancer centers. This includes managing patient registration for on-site appointments, insurance verification, coding, claims submission, collections, and payment posting. The role ensures compliance with all regulatory and payer requirements while optimizing revenue generation and minimizing billing errors or denials. Responsibilities • Lead and oversee financial and access operations (authorization, billing, registration) for the Cancer & Breast Centers, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and staff scheduling/timekeeping. • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff on revenue cycle processes, systems, insurance, billing/authorization, and customer service, while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture. • Manage the end-to-end revenue cycle from patient registration to final payment, including charge capture, coding, billing, claims, collections, denials, and payment posting, ensuring compliance with all regulations. • Act as liaison between patients, physicians, staff, and insurance; meet with patients to explain financial terms, resolve billing disputes, and oversee service recovery efforts. • Optimize systems and reporting by ensuring effective use of Epic, Cerner, and other platforms; prepare and analyze financial/revenue cycle reports, KPIs, and audits; and implement process improvements aligned with hospital goals. • Maintain compliance and operations by updating departmental policies, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and healthcare laws, coordinating audits with Patient Accounts, managing supplies/meetings, and resolving patient or staff concerns in a timely manner. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required 5-8+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient access, or related billing fields Strong knowledge of healthcare industry practices, insurance policies, and benefit requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations Familiarity with computer systems and applications utilized by the Cancer Center Excellent critical thinking, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills; able to deliver effective presentations Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English at a professional level Pay Range USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
