<p>Job Summary/Basic Function:</p> <p>To plan and organize custodial services insuring building complexes are clean and orderly; perform related work.</p> <p>Primary shift schedule: Monday - Thursday; 4 pm - 2:30 am (10 hour shifts).</p> <p>Shift pay may be available for qualifying shift assignments.</p> <p>Department Overview:</p> <p>Facilities Operations and Maintenance supports the university's strategic mission by professionally maintaining safe, functional and attractive facilities and grounds, while also providing quality support services to the campus community.</p> <p>Level Scope:</p> <p>Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of operational or technical employees. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the unit; however, supervisory activities must constitute a primary part of the job. Supervises unit operations to ensure compliance with departmental or campus policies, procedures, and defined internal controls. Ensures accountability and stewardship of campus resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>? Interviews and hires staff and evaluates performance; establishes work priorities, organizes work schedules, and determines duty assignment; determines custodial care plans for work areas; monitors work habits of staff to insure work quality and productivity; implements quality assurance programs; trains staff on proper care and use of custodial equipment.</p> <p>? Schedules and coordinates building cleaning and custodial equipment lubrication and maintenance; orders supplies; replenishes stocks; fills requisitions for cleaning supplies; performs light- and heavy-duty cleaning duties when staff coverage is inadequate; maintains records and reports; assists in the development of policies and procedures; tests and evaluates new products for usefulness.</p> <p>? Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:</p> <p>? Knowledge of supervisory practices.</p> <p>? Ability to monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.</p> <p>? Ability to prioritize, organize and accomplish work.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Considerable knowledge of: methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy-duty custodial work; custodial safety practices; cleaning agents and related products and their possible reactions.</p> <p>Good knowledge of: supervisory practices; sanitation and infection control; training methods used in custodial work.</p> <p>Experience: using small hand tools; operating and maintaining industrial-type cleaning equipment; preparing records and reports.</p> <p>Physical ability to: climb ladders, bend, stoop, lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 60 pounds and to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.</p> <p>A valid driver's license is required.</p> <p>Salary and Benefits:</p> <p>Salary is $22.08/hr.</p> <p>Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>12 paid holidays AND the University is closed between Christmas and New Year's (requires use of 3 vacation days) </li><li>Between 12-24 annual paid vacation days for full-time Professional and Classified staff depending on position type and years of service </li><li>9.27% University contribution to your ORP retirement fund (Professional and Faculty employees) </li><li>11.96% University contribution to your PERSI retirement fund (Classified employees) </li><li>Excellent medical, dental and other health-related insurance coverages </li><li>Tuition fee waiver benefits for employees, spouses and their dependents </li><li>See our full benefits page for more information! </li></ul> <p>About Us:</p> <p>Nestled along the Boise River and steps from the state capitol, Boise State University fosters a vibrant and welcoming academic environment that fuels student and employee success.
