<p>Job Title: Coaching & Training Specialist</p> <p>Grade: 22</p> <p>Salary: $75,999 - $86,588</p> <p>The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is currently seeking a full-time Critical Time Intervention (CTI) Coaching and Training Specialist to provide coaching, consulting, and technical assistance to CTI and Safe Options Support (SOS) Teams across the state of New York. This position is within I CONECT at the Center for Practice Innovations (CPI) and receives guidance from the I CONECT Director and CTI Supervisor, with oversight from the NYS OMH Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, Treatment, and Care Coordination.</p> <p>CTI Teams are modeled on Critical Time Intervention, an evidence-based model that is a time-limited, phase-based care management approach focused on enhancing continuity of care during transitional times, for example from a hospital to community. CTI promotes community integration, self-advocacy, and access to ongoing support by helping individuals develop and utilize strong ties to their professional and non-professional support systems during and after transition periods. CTI includes assertive outreach and engagement with individuals in higher-level of care settings, as well as in the community, with a focus on addressing key social care needs at the individual level. A critical aspect of this program is the partnership between CTI Teams and hospitals (inpatient psychiatry units, emergency departments, and CPEPs), as well as the knowledge of, and expertise in, connections to outpatient services and supports.</p> <p>The SOS Teams are trained to engage with service recipients to provide safe housing and help them develop self-management skills on their journey to recovery. They also utilize the aforementioned CTI approach which helps people with mental illness as they transition from street homelessness to stable housing.</p> <p>I CONECT is located at the Center for Practice Innovations (CPI), in the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The mission of the institute is to establish ongoing engagement, ensure integrated care, identify best practices, share core competencies, provide information, and create training opportunities that include cultural humility, person-centeredness, recovery, and trauma informed approaches for care managers throughout New York State.</p> <p>The candidate applying for this position must be a strong, self-directed, team player committed to person-centered, trauma informed and culturally humble practices and value a data-driven approach to behavioral health services. This includes openness to learning about cultural humility-based approaches to providing behavioral health services and a strong understanding of person-centered practice.</p> <p>The incumbent will work with the director and CTI supervisor in overseeing the statewide implementation of the NYS CTI process. This will include coaching, consulting, educating, and technical assistance. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with staff in different units of CPI (e.g., data analysis, online assistance unit, content development unit, continuing education unit) to support the work. Candidates must also possess leadership skills and ability to work well with colleagues, welcome feedback, and accountability from the management team.</p> <p>This position is fully remote. The incumbent must reside in New York State or the New York City metro area.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>The facilitation of individual or small group coaching, training and technical assistance sessions with provider teams as directed by the CTI leadership.</p> <ul> <li>Support training of core competencies and best practices in the field of care management. </li><li>Co-leading specific technical assistance efforts (e.g., learning communities, quality improvement projects, etc.) to support implementation of core competencies and best practices in the field of care management. </li><li>Support culturally humble training materials including online modules, webinars, and presentations. </li><li>Support the director and CTI supervisor in conducting ongoing needs assessments. </li><li>Travel throughout New York State to provide in-person consulting and support. </li><li>Working with CPI's module development unit, subject matter experts, OMH, vendors, and others to ensure that new online training modules are developed and made available to learners. </li><li>Supporting the development of pre-and-post evaluations, surveys, and questionnaires for ongoing data collection. </li><li>Participating in the design and creation of marketing materials for Institute learning community meetings, webinars, training sessions, consultations, and support calls. </li><li>Writing/editing project summaries. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree and (3) years of experience in care management or a related field; a master's degree and (1) year of experience. </li><li>Personal lived & living experience of mental health and/or substance recovery can substitute for education. </li><li>At least (1) year of experience facilitating training/workshops and providing technical assistance or consultation services to whole health supporters. </li><li>At least (1) years of experience providing and implementing evidence-based integrated treatment practices </li><li>Must reside in the NY Metro area (which includes NY, Connecticut, NJ, and eastern Pennsylvania) and be able to travel to in-state and on-site meetings as needed. </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Comfortability with driving in NYS. Must be able to participate in overnight, statewide travel as needed. </li><li>At least (1) year using standard office professional software packages and web-based applications including Zoom, Webex, Share Point, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web-based training and learning management systems. </li></ul> <p>Work Location: 1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10032 (Remote)</p> <p>To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
