<p>Assabet Valley Regional Vocational School District Long-Term Substitute School Counselor Reports to: Director of Pupil Personnel Services</p> <p>Position Summary: The Long-Term Substitute School Counselor supports the academic, career, and personal-social development of students during the period of coverage. The counselor works as part of the Student Services team to implement the Massachusetts Model of School Counseling and contributes to the overall operation of the school through direct services, consultation, and collaboration.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities: ?Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, and personal-social issues</p> <p>?Assist students with course selection, scheduling, and fulfillment of graduation requirements</p> <p>?Guide students through the college application process and/or post-secondary planning</p> <p>?Support student attendance, progress monitoring, and interventions when necessary</p> <p>?Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to address student needs and facilitate communication between home and school</p> <p>?Participate in TEAM meetings, parent conferences, and other student-centered meetings</p> <p>?Develop, implement, and monitor 504 plans as assigned</p> <p>?Refer students and families to appropriate community resources and collaborate with school-based support staff</p> <p>?Assist new students with transition into Assabet Valley RVTHS</p> <p>?Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with school and state policy</p> <p>?Contribute to department activities, admissions efforts, and other school-wide initiatives as directed</p>
