<p>Administrative Assistant to the Director of Teaching and Learning JobID: 2771</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Secretarial/Clerical/Administrative Assistant</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/20/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Streetsboro Board Office</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>04/04/2025</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF TEACHING & LEARNING</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years responsible experience in complex secretarial work or a combination of training and experience. </li><li>Able to utilize both microsoft and google suites of applications, including spreadsheets and google forms. </li><li>Willing to support new and unique initiatives. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>Ability to perform highly responsible secretarial and administrative duties necessary to support the Director of Teaching & Learning. Extensive knowledge of the organization, operation, program and goals of the district. Knowledge of federal, state and district rules, regulations and policies. Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures and operation of office equipment. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment in assigned duties and deal effectively with district personnel and the general public. Ability to utilize the computer for word processing and other functions. Ability to schedule time and handle multiple tasks in stressful situations. Ability to answer telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner.</p> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Director of Teaching & Learning</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Service Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Serve as administrative assistant to the Director of Teaching & Learning by planning, initiating and carrying to completion secretarial and administrative activities. </li><li>Prepare and disseminate agendas and packets for all meetings. </li><li>Develop materials for the Director of Teaching & Learning's use for presentations, conferences and workshops. </li><li>Compile background data and information on issues and/or topics as requested by the Superintendent. </li><li>Respond to any correspondence as directed by the Director of Teaching & Learning. </li><li>Help coordinate responses to public records requests. </li><li>Train other secretaries on important topics/concerns facing the district/buildings. </li><li>Oversee central enrollment process. </li></ul> <p>Inter / Intra-agency Communication and Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Communicate with district and school administrators concerning meetings, official functions, and any other pertinent information. </li><li>Interface with others concerning items that are required for Board approval. </li><li>Attend and take minutes of staff meetings and other meetings in order to maintain a proper record for communication, documentation and audit purposes. </li><li>Receive and route telephone calls, answer questions which may involve interpretation of policies and procedures and operation of the District. </li><li>Receive, log and route all mail and electronic communications received by the Director of Teaching & Learning's office. </li><li>Keep the Director of Teaching & Learning informed of potential problems or unusual events. </li><li>Work with EMIS. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Employee Qualities / Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain effective working relationships with Board members, District and school personnel, parents, media representatives and the general public. </li><li>Assist in training and supervising any District clerical personnel assigned to the Superintendent's office. </li><li>Participate in workshops and training sessions to keep up-to-date and enhance skills and knowledge. </li><li>Respond to requests from the public as directed by the Director of Teaching & Learning. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or Director of Teaching & Learning. </li></ul> <p>System Support</p> <ul> <li>Develop an extensive knowledge of the organization and programs under the Director of Curriculum jurisdiction. </li><li>Prepare required reports and maintain all appropriate records. </li><li>Follow all School Board policies and procedures. </li><li>Demonstrate support for the School District and its goals and priorities. </li><li>Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position. </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. </li><li>Estimated Start Date: June 2, 2025 </li><li>Work Days: 260 / Exempt Position </li></ul> <p>Streetsboro City Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
