Please see below job description for additional details.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION: DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS</p> <p>The Director shall assist in the planning, organization and operation of the schools in accordance with State standards,</p> <p>county requirements, and district policies and regulations. He/she shall assist the local Superintendent with aspects of the</p> <p>operation of the district.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 Days</p> <p>FLSA STATUS: Exempt</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>1.</p> <p>Certification of qualification from the Ohio Department of Education.</p> <p>2.</p> <p>Successful experience in a supervisory position.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Knowledge of purchasing, business operations, federal law, worker safety. </li></ol> <p>BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS:</p> <p>1.</p> <p>Promotes cooperation and team effort through shared successes, achievement of best group</p> <p>outcomes and supports positive group contributions.</p> <p>2.</p> <p>Demonstrates and fosters respect by building trust.</p> <p>3.</p> <p>Demonstrates open thinking by generating new ideas, challenging rigid thinking and sees the big</p> <p>picture.</p> <p>4.</p> <p>Communicates in a clear and logical manner.</p> <p>5.</p> <p>Demonstrates the ability to actively listen.</p> <p>6.</p> <p>Manages time effectively and displays a bias for action.</p> <p>7.</p> <p>Seeks to acquire new skills and feedback. Learns from experience and applies knowledge to</p> <p>improve performance.</p> <p>8.</p> <p>Fosters joint problem solving and encourages others to apply their skills.</p> <p>9.</p> <p>Is responsive to the customer, recognizes who the players are and gives priority to handling</p> <p>customer needs.</p> <p>10.</p> <p>Demonstrates self-confidence.</p> <p>11.</p> <p>Demonstrates loyalty to the district.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>1.</p> <p>Shall supervise the maintenance program and custodial care of all board-owned properties.</p> <p>2.</p> <p>Shall directly supervise the Transportation Supervisor and Director of Student Nutrition Services.</p> <p>3.</p> <p>Shall supervise the warehouse and Central Copy operation.</p> <p>4.</p> <p>Shall assist in preparation of plans and supervise construction of new buildings, additions, and remodeling.</p> <p>5.</p> <p>Shall supervise, by working in conjunction with other administrators/supervisors, the purchasing and installation of all new equipment.</p> <p>6.</p> <p>Shall develop necessary procedures for all purchasing; prepare specifications when required, and secure bids and/or quotes as needed for equipment and supplies.</p> <p>7.</p> <p>Shall maintain inventory records of all buildings by working with and through other administrators/supervisors.</p> <p>8.</p> <p>Shall assist the Superintendent in all areas of the total educational enterprise.</p> <p>9.</p> <p>Shall make recommendations to the Superintendent's office which will enhance the effectiveness of the total education enterprise.</p> <p>10.</p> <p>Write, administer, and evaluate the P.L.874 Federal Program and the building principals will be responsible for helping with this program.</p> <p>11.</p> <p>Work with the building principal, maintenance staff and custodial staff in maintaining safe and clean buildings and grounds.</p> <p>12.</p> <p>Shall coordinate and supervise all programs required by the federal government dealing with asbestos, OSHA, and ADA.</p> <p>13.</p> <p>Assists in promotion of good safety practices and procedures.</p> <p>14.</p> <p>Works on committees as may be pertinent to the effective operation of the transportation department, i.e. annual bus driver seminar and so forth.</p> <p>15.</p> <p>Hold periodic driver safety meetings for all non-certificated personnel.</p> <p>16.</p> <p>Checks roads in inclement weather and advises local superintendent.</p> <p>17.</p> <p>Work cooperatively with building principals in establishing priorities for maintenance work assignments.</p> <p>18.</p> <p>Provides leadership and supervision in setting up and implementing a preventative maintenance program for the district.</p> <p>19.</p> <p>Provides direction to all aspects of the district's buildings and grounds programs.</p> <p>20.</p> <p>Works cooperatively with building principals in establishing priorities for maintenance work assignments.</p> <p>21.</p> <p>Provides leadership and supervision in setting up and implementing a preventative maintenance program for the district.</p> <p>22.</p> <p>Provides direction to all aspects of the district's building and grounds programs.</p> <p>23.</p> <p>Demonstrates the ability to organize tasks to completion.</p> <p>24.</p> <p>Identifies, analyzes and solves problems.</p> <p>25.</p> <p>Seeks to improve personal and organizational performance by measuring and monitoring</p> <p>outcomes.</p> <p>26.</p> <p>Is open to change and willing to be involved in the change process.</p> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.</p> </li><li> <p>Helps instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts other duties related to the Director's duties as assigned by the local Superintendent of Schools.</p> </li></ol> <p>ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional operation of a bus, truck, or vehicle under inclement weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional interaction among unruly children.</p> </li></ol>
