<p>Job Title: K-12 Substitute Teacher</p> <p>Location: All Tallmadge City School Buildings</p> <p>Job Type: During the school year as needed</p> <p>Salary: $115 per day for the first 25 days, $125 per day after day 25</p> <p>Job Summary: Substitute Teacher serves as a temporary replacement for regular classroom teachers during their absence, providing instruction and maintaining a structured learning environment in accordance with the district's educational policies. The substitute teacher ensures continuity of student learning and upholds classroom management practices while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher or develop appropriate classroom activities if lesson plans are unavailable. </li><li>Maintain order in the classroom and manage student behavior following school policies. </li><li>Deliver instruction in various subjects across grade levels, adapting teaching methods to meet student needs. </li><li>Take attendance and document any student issues or notable classroom occurrences for the returning teacher. </li><li>Provide students with necessary instructional support and guidance while promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment. </li><li>Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and students. ? Adhere to all district policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement). </li><li>Bachelor's degree or active teaching license preferred but not required. </li><li>Valid Ohio Substitute Teaching License (or ability to obtain one). </li><li>Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred. </li><li>Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different learning environments. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to follow lesson plans and provide engaging instruction. Physical and Other Requirements: </li><li>Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift classroom materials. </li><li>Flexibility to work on short notice in various school locations. </li><li>Background check and fingerprinting required per Ohio state regulations. </li></ul>
