<p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Part-time, 90% FTE, 36 hours per week, Day/Evening shift. Working 8- and 12-hour shifts, weekend rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.</p> <p>Be part of something remarkable</p> <p>Bring your EMT experience to a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center and the #1 hospital in Wisconsin!</p> <p>We are seeking an Emergency Department (ED) Technician to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide compassionate care to patients as they receive treatment in the Emergency Department. </li><li>Be one of the first people a patient interacts with and assist with taking blood samples and getting IVs and catheters started. </li><li>Utilize state-of-the-art equipment. </li><li>Communicate directly with providers, nurses, patients, patient's families, and other caregivers regarding care for patients. </li><li>Record information in the Electronic Medical Record. </li><li>Respond to pages/codes and assist as directed. </li><li>Act as an observer for behavior health complaints. </li></ul> <p>Emergency Technicians at UW Health</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Minimum - Completion of EMT-Basic</p> <p>Preferred - Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program.</p> <p>Work Experience:</p> <p>Preferred -Relevant experience in Emergency Departments, hospitals, or other healthcare entities to include EMS.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <p>Minimum -</p> <ul> <li>EMT-B License or National Registry of EMT </li><li>Current CPR/BLS certification </li></ul> <p>Preferred -</p> <ul> <li>National Registry or Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license </li><li>ACLS and PALS certification </li></ul> <p>Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion</p> <p>UW Health is committed to being a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist workplace and is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
